White Truffle of Alba: hunt and tasting

The experience is all about a fascinating ingredient which is the truffle and the secrets of the “trifulau” man, a complex profession. There are bond, loyalty and respect between the “trifulau” man and his truffle-hunting dog after many years of experience together. Only few people have the opportunity to go truffle hunting by themselves. Usually the trifulau men go to the woods in the night, lonely. The truffle is a precious and limited product, not easy to find: there are secret places where the truffle grows and nobody will share them! You will learn more about the quality of our unique truffle and you will discover how to find them. Also we will reveal to you some secrets, not all of them of course! We will simulate for you a proper truffle hunting with a professional trifulau man and his “tabui” (his trusted dog). The trifulau man will bury the truffles before the activity start and he will show you his job. However, since the search takes place in a natural truffle ground, it is possible to find truffles spontaneously grown on the spot. But one cannot search for truffles without then tasting them! The experience continues at the Monvino Enoteca where we will guide you through a tasting of local specialties based on both black and white truffles paired with 3 basic wines selected from bottles of Monforte 'Alba producers. Depending on the season you can also taste fresh black or white truffles but the evaluation and quotation will be handled directly on the spot.
