Tasting of extra virgin olive oil among the centuries-old olive trees of Bagnara Calabra

Discover the world of organic extra virgin olive oil with an engaging experience among the centuries-old olive trees of Bagnara Calabra. An authentic and relaxing afternoon, discovering the most genuine flavors and traditions of the Calabrian territory. Your adventure begins with a warm welcome at the family estate, nestled in the countryside. You will walk through picturesque olive groves with a guide who will tell you the story of the farm and Elvira de Leo's family, custodian of a long olive-growing tradition. You will learn about the varieties of olives grown, the harvesting techniques and the machinery used in the production of EVO oil. During the harvest period (October-January), you will also be able to watch the olive harvest, observing the work of the pickers up close. And between steps, don't miss the exciting experience of “embracing the olive tree,” a moment of deep connection with nature. It continues with a visit to the farm's oil mill, where the entire cold extraction process, from milling to storage, will be explained to you. The tour culminates with a tasting of extra virgin olive oil and typical Calabrian products: bread with oil seasonings flavored with bergamot, citron, mint and chili peppers; cured meats, cheeses, olives, vegetables in oil and a first course prepared with seasonal ingredients. All accompanied by water and local wine.
